Voice cloning builds a reusable voice from a short sample, then reads a script in that voice. Clone only your own voice, or one you have written permission to use. Voice is treated as biometric data in several jurisdictions.
How to clone and speak
- Record a sample in AI voice cloning. A phone or laptop microphone is enough. Quiet room, one speaker, a few clear sentences.
- Save the voice and paste the script you want spoken.
- Generate. Standard voiceover is 5 credits per 1,000 characters, premium is 17, with a 3-credit minimum per clip. The studio shows the charge before you run it.
- Use it on video. Pair the voice with a presenter in the UGC studio or with a saved influencer.
What you must not do
- Do not use a cloned voice for unsolicited phone calls. The FCC ruled in February 2024 that AI-generated voices in robocalls are illegal under the TCPA.
- Do not clone a person without documented consent.
- Disclose that the voice is synthetic where the audience could take it for a live recording. EU AI Act Article 50 treats this class of audio as something you label.
Free-tier output is watermarked. Paid packs include commercial use for the audio you generate, not a right to someone else's voice.
Frequently asked questions
Whose voice can I clone?
Only your own, or one you have written permission to use. Uploading someone else’s voice without permission is not allowed.
What does generated speech cost?
5 credits per 1,000 characters on a standard voice, 17 on a premium voice, with a 3-credit minimum per clip.
Can I use a cloned voice for phone calls?
No. The FCC ruled in February 2024 that AI-generated voices in robocalls are illegal under the TCPA.
Do I need a studio microphone?
No. A phone or laptop microphone in a quiet room is enough to build the voice. Quality of the sample still affects the clone.
